Meet Melissa Wood of Habersham County! Melissa and her husband Kevin are the owners of Wood’s Mercantile, formerly known as Wood’s Furniture located in the heart of downtown Clarkesville.
Wood’s Furniture has been an established business in the area since 1961. Through the years, Wood’s has provided the community with excellent customer service in assisting with home decor needs. Everything from plush bedding to accent rugs and more home decor can be found under one roof at Wood’s. In addition to longevity, the reputation of the store sparks nostalgia with many locals. The “Windows at Wood’s” production has been a focal point of downtown Clarkesville during the Christmas season for many years.
Recently Melissa and her husband have transformed the business into Wood’s Mercantile. The name embodies the same great value and down home feel the locals know and love with a fresh and crisp new brand. The building itself will undergo a remodel in 2019 as well as additional new inventory. Melissa and her husband invite everyone to visit Wood’s Mercantile and check out their progress. Wood’s Mercantile customers are not just people walking through the doors, but family and friends throughout the community.
Melissa and Kevin have 4 children: Edwin, Mont, Lillie, and Morgan. The family resides in Clarkesville and attends The Torch Worship Center.
